Out With the Old
Plane of Dust
The Plane of Dust is an endless desert of gray sand, positioned on the lower borders where the planes of Earth and Air meet. The constant erosion of the raging winds has ground the stone here to fine sand, and now keeps it dancing in an eternal dust storm. The plane is in a constant dust storm (see Strong Winds, DMG p.110) and visibility is limited to a range of about 10 feet. Because of its shifting nature, the Plane of Dust is largely featureless, but it is still navigable via sufficient familiarity with the Labyrinth of Winds, the raging currents of which are responsible for stirring the clouds. Gravity only extends about 40 feet from the surface of the desert. Legend has it that the plane of dust formed from the dissolved corpse of Ugar the Unforgiving, a Primordial of stone and storm. Others say that this desert is the home of Alu Kahn Sang, the Wind of Destruction, who manifests as a vast dust storm.
