Yugoloth: Gacholoth (Gachodaemon, Type II)

Gacholoth.jpg Gacholoths are the infiltrators, saboteurs, and terrorists of the yugoloths. They use their abilities to slip behind enemy lines and create havoc and confusion. A gacholoth might infiltrate a group and serve a leader loyalty for months or years before revealing its true allegiance in an explosion of violence and fear.

Gacholoths have a roughly humanoid appearance. Their bodies are an ebony black, and they have four long and powerful legs, each tipped with three sharp claws to aid in climbing. Their well-muscled torsos have two arms, each ending in a hand with four fingers that are tipped with savage, retractable claws. Gacholoth skulls are bony, their ears are triangular and flare back; a thick shock of dark hair flows back from a receding hairline. Sharp fangs thrust forward prominently, while the sunken eyes are cold and inhuman. Something about their skull structure suggests sahuagin.

Gacholoths usually communicate using telepathy.

Ambush. The gacholoth gains + 5 to Initiative checks and has advantage to attack rolls against targets it has surprised.

Innate Spellcasting The gacholoth’s innate spellcastong ability is Charisma (Spell save DC 13, spell attack bonus 5). The gacholoth can cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
at will: alter self, darkness, detect magic, dispel magic
3/day: feather fall, silent image
1/day: mirror image, charm person
+note:
With alter self, a gacholoth can disguise itself as a centaur or armanite demon.

Magic Resistance The yugoloth has advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

Magic Weapons The gacholoth’s weapon attacks count as magic weapons.

Spider Climb The gacholoth can climb up or across difficult surfaces, including upside-down on ceilings, without making an ability check.


Actions

Multiattack The gacholoth makes two attacks with its claws.

Bite Melee Weapon Attack + 6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9(1d10 + 4) piercing damage.

Claws Melee Weapon Attack + 6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11(2d6 + 4) slashing damage plus 3(1d6) acid damage.

Shapechanger. The gacholoth polymorphs into the form of a Medium or Large humanoid or giant. Without its extra legs, the yugoloth loses its climb speed and its spider climb ability. WIthout the appropriate natural weapons, it loses its claw and bite attacks. Its statistics otherwise remain unchanged in its new form. Equipment it carries or wears is not transformed with it, and it returns to its original form when it dies. The gacholoth can also use an action to return to its true form.
